The NLC session generally spans across ten learning months (15th June to 15th April). Out of these ten months, seven months are taken up in learning sessions, while the remaining three months are reserved for revisions and exam preparation.
Thus, the NLC schedule provides for a judicious allocation of time for learning, self evaluation, opportunities for exploration of subjects and clarification of doubts, as well as revisions.
Specific schedules at NLCs may depend on the package that you select. For example, for classes XI and XII, you can choose to enrol for any one of the following packages:
Learning sessions for such packages are conducted three days a week, (say Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Saturdays are generally reserved for Open Sessions or Assessments.
Here is a pie chart that shows how time is allocated among the various activities for a class XI/XII student who is availing services at an NLC for 3 subjects:
The packages for lower classes include more subjects like Social Science, English grammar etc. Therefore, for classes III to X, classes are conducted on all days from Monday to Friday. Tuesdays and Thursdays are days for classes in Social Studies, English Grammar, as well as English Labs. A sample time table is given below:
